Rob Taylor has over twenty years’ experience in performance based fire safety design and certification. Rob has a comprehensive background in fire safety engineering design, installation auditing and compliance certification. During his career he has specialised in the delivery of performance-based fire-safety design for major building and infrastructure projects. As an accredited certifier Rob brings to each new project a sound understanding of building regulations.

Rob’s participation in performance-based fire engineering design has been at the cutting edge of the discipline, and includes contributions to some of Australia’s most innovative and significant projects. Rob strongly advocates an engineering approach to fire safety, maximizing design flexibility and performance efficiency and ensuring the necessary safety standards are maintained.

Rob has substantial experience in the management, production, auditing of compliance and certification of conceptual and detailed performance-based design. Rob also has experience in risk based assessment. With his knowledge of the certification process and his in-depth understanding of building structure and services design, combined with his experience as project director / manager and team leader on numerous significant projects, Rob is able to help ensure the delivery of the most innovative and appropriate fire-safety solutions and facilitate the rapid resolution of complex, multidisciplinary problems.

Dr. Atul Bhargava

Dr Atul Bhargava has over 15 years consulting and research experience in the area of fire safety. Combining his undergraduate qualifications in Chemical and Process engineering and a postgraduate research degree in fire safety in industrial applications (on shore and off shore petrochemical and process plants) with his fire engineering experience, Atul is able to provide advice on all aspects of fire safety in industrial, building and infrastructure facilities.

Atul Bhargava has worked extensively with coal fired power generation and provided consulting for major hazard facilities such as ESSO Longford Petrochemical refinery fire safety study during and PhD and Post-doctoral fellowships. He has worked closely with OneSteel on a number of projects involving manufacturing facilities in Newcastle and provided fire safety consulting and advice to a number of local industries. Dr Bhargava has also gained valuable experience in risk assessments and fire engineering in major infrastructure facilities while working with Manufacturing and Infrastructure Technology (MIT) division of CSIRO.

Atul is a member of Engineers Australia and also a Registered Practicing Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) and has good working relationship with approval authorities including Fire Brigades. Atul is also an executive member of the NSW Chapter committee of the Society of Fire Safety.
